Excellent survey of Early Jesus Movement both Scripturally exhaustive and critically responsible My only discomfort came as I read about the development of the movement which can be read as a evolution or a digression The hierarchy and offices of the later Christian movement see Ignatius of Antioch didn t seem congruent with the beginnings in the message and character of Jesus of Nazareth In some ways the very opposite The uniqueness of communities of faith that formed around the earliest message was intriguing and helpful as an interpretive tool of understanding the thematic divergences of the gospels and epistles Worth reading.
